Yucca Accounts Manager is an all in one inventory and POS software solution especially targeted for small retail businesses. There were two released versions of Yucca, both developed in Visual Basic 6. The first version used custom file-saving, whilst the second one used an Access database back-end.
Yucca Accounts Manager ended up being a very easy to use accounts program just because we were very close to the end users whilst we were developing its code, taking into consideration their input about the required features and the software interface itself. This has proved to be also a convenient approach both because we could test the software thoroughly before release and also because we have built a platform that is geared to offer options for customization of the software for everyone's requirements. Yucca was also my first experience in providing a trial version which can be unlocked by a code once the user purchses the appropriate license.
Particular highlights of the program's coding were the barcode printer and reader, supplier/customer/location database, easy and fast inventory search with location details, backup/restore, and a large POS display. All of these are available as different modules that can be launched from the program's toolbar.
A third version of Yucca, for newer versions of Windows is currently in development, but no target date has been yet set.
